First of all, 1hr40mins late then tried to say they been calling me all day! Which was a complete lie.
Wanted a quote for a basic conservatory as advertising 50% sale. Just a lean to, with full length glass panels no dwarf wall etc... £14K & that was with discount!!! Once my wife & I stopped laughing, we asked if was a joke to which we were told no. We've had other quotes of between £5k-£7.5k for same spec/quality!
Rip off comes to mind! He was asked to leave.
I never got to the stage of having a quote off this company as they "have a policy" of not providing quotes to just the wife - my husband was at work and sales-guy said that they like to see both of us as when they only see one member of the family, they know that they are unlikely to make a sale! I explained that I was only after a quote and wouldn't be making a decision straightaway, that I was in an equal partnership and was equally capable and able to make a decision on what we spent our money on. He rang his boss, but he wouldn't sanction the sales-guy to provide a quote to just me. So he left!
Had a phone-call from them this afternoon offering to come out and give quote at any time convenient to us - I said that we didn't want them to as we don't like their policy!

I've had so many issues with my front door i had fitted by Amber I've had them out 4 times and it's never been fixed, I was told it would be £2600 in total for a new door a window which I was happy to pay so I set up a finance agreement an now it turns out im paying ova £6000, just don't let them in your house,
Pressured into having an appointment but thought, I'll get a cost for next year. Was clear I wouldn't be agreeing to anything this year at outset. Measured up, gave a price but 'had to call the office' to 'check in'. Do they think people are stupid, classic pushy salesman trick. Low and behold we got a 3k discount. When that didn't work, another call, we can knock this off that off., obviously volume set high so we could hear. Eventually after letting him know I was getting angry and after my husband shouted we've had enough now, he left, 2.5 hrs later. What a waste of my precious time. Go away, if you offered me windows at half price I wouldn't take them after that shocking display.
I had Amber install widows and doors at my home back in 2005 and have had many problems during and after the warranty period. I have had at least three windows replaced during the warranty period because the seals had failed and they kept frosting up. To be fair they did come out and replace these windows as per the warranty, but these windows were not cheap (almost £13000 twelve years ago for a three bedroom semi). The windows were not just not manufactured correctly. Cladding has fallen off in various places where they just cloaked over the old timber instead of removing it and doing a proper job like they were supposed to. The letter box got broken but I replaced this myself. Inside the kitchen and dining room I had to remove the cladding and fill up a large gap the entire length of the frames as the wind whistled through sounding like an aircraft engine. Outside of the warranty the barrel of my front door lock wore out. They charged me a £60 call out fee and the manager wanted to charge me £45 for the barrel even though it is only £22 at screw fix, so the fitter charged me £25. Also some of the office staff are rude and one even hung up on you when me because I said their products are not fit for purpose. They are very expensive for at best an average product and I would not recommend Amber to anyone and I will never us them again.
Not Recommended at all. The Rep who visited who was very rude because we didnt accept the quote. He was very aggravating and judgemental towards us. He even told us he couldn't see why we wanted to get other quotes. He said there was no need to.
Other things he said to us have been passed on to Customers Service when they phoned me the next morning to see how the visit went.( She appeared to be very nice and polite to talk to) I explained every thing in detail that had happened and how terrible it was.
The Lady did apologise on the Reps behalf.
She said she would pass every thing on and she would herself phone me back. At this movement she hasn't done so.
The qoute was very extremely high when compared to other reputable companies. He made statements that he said were only unique to Amber Windows, but other companies appear to offer the same.
salesman was here over 7 hours we decided to get new window and had them fitted workmen was brilliant and it was done in 2 days but after that we had call after call to have new guttering done which we cannot afford even though we was told wed made them 25000 in work in our area through us but after lots and lots of phone calls we told them leave it a couple of months and guess what 1st march and theyre ringing again what do we do to get them to stop
Do not phone this company they will not stop harassing you. Over 50 phone calls over 50 no's. you will not do work on my home and yet they are so desperate for work they still try to harass me. 100% say no to this company.
