We needed a refit of a small en-suite and chose Richard Day of Atlantis Bathrooms based on the excellent reviews on Checkatrade. The job was relatively simple; fit custom-made units with sink and toilet, new shower and floor and wall tiling. On the first day he arrived 2 hours late but the work got off to a reasonably good start. The problems started when he didn't seem to grasp where the £1100.00 custom-made units should fit even though we had explained clearly and provided a floor plan. On his second attempt he cut an unnecessary hole in the top which meant we had to order a replacement at a cost of £130. On his final attempt he got it in the right place but it was 20mm down on one side. Things went down hill from here; the tiling in the shower was uneven, the grouting was filthy, uneven and crumbly and cracking and the silicone sealing was no better. He then moved on to the floor and made a mess of that as well, The tiles didn't line up in any plane and the gaps were uneven. He was now 3 weeks into the job and had taken to turning up at 3pm and drinking tea for an hour before starting "work". At this point I called an end to this fiasco and told him to leave. What should have been a completed professional job looked like it had been done by a drunk amateur. I have no idea what is going on in Richard Day's head, he seems pleasant enough, I don't think he is a bad man but he is utterly incompetent, every single thing he did was wrong. I pointed out all the problems and he agreed with everything I said; even he didn't think his work was any good!
