Absolutely terrible company. New front door replaced last year and the guys who came were rude and obnoxious. They only took under 2 hours to remove and fit new door which is now causing problems with damp coming in and door movement. I also have to push the door from the inside to move sure its secure and locked. I would avoid these people if I were you!!
Housing association replacement back door.
Failed to arrive for appointment, no notification or contact. Arrived the following day and I had to turn them away the excuse was that they were busy.
New appointment arranged again didn't turn up when arranged (4 hours later) apparently van broke down.
At my property for total of 45 minutes ripped out old door frame with crowbar damaging surrounding areas. No dust sheets used ,mess left , door frame has missing screws and the ones that are there are protruding. Edging strips not stuck down properly bent key's the list goes on.
Very unprofessional and poor workmanship. Definitely wouldn't recommend, rated 1 star as 0 star wasn't an option.
Giving one star as no option!
I am a housing association tenant, supposedly having double glazing replaced.
After one week the work still not completed. Without writing a detailed saga of what has happened or more to the point what hasn't happened, my experience with this company and their installation employees has been nothing short of appalling, absolutely not communication from the company or installers, they have been completely negligent, dismissive and unhelpful. I would strongly advise anyone not to use this company.
I bought a conservatory from Astraseal with my redundancy payment in 2004. I believed the long guarantee offered by the company and looked forward to many years of quiet enjoyment , overlooking my garden, and the park land at the back. The meagre 5 year guarantee on the base did not become apparent until about 6 years after construction, cracks began to appear in the structure, as the base literally started to 'float' away from the house. The blame was placed on the many nearby trees, which, incidentally were there and already mature at the time of construction. A later survey by a qualified engineer revealed that the foundations had only been dug to a depth of only 60cm when the recommendation was 2.5m ! I had visits by an Astraseal engineer. Some cosmetic work was carried out, but somehow the inference was that the existence of the surrounding trees which were not even on my land, was somehow my fault. I spoke with the director a Mr McMullen on one occasion and I asked him what he would do in my situation. His answer was to knock the whole thing down and start again as conservatories are only regarded as temporary structures! Needless to say I did seek legal advice but time had passed and the deadline of limitation , set by the date when McMullen told me the building should be knocked down, had by then expired. In the end, the conservatory, of which I was so proud when it was first built, had to be taken down at my own expense, and Astraseal just walked away. In summary, my advice to anyone thinking of dealing with this company can be summed up in one word - DON'T!!! I only gave it a 1-star rating because there wasn't a 0-star option.
We have had the worst experience with Astraseal over the last few years. We had a new composite door and side panel fitted around 5 years ago. We have had to have the front door replaced twice so far. The first door was replaced as the stain was peeling off. Then last year another new front door and side panel as both was fading and peeling. Then a couple of weeks ago, we have had trouble unlocking our front door. The engineer did one adjustment and told me it was fixed. I asked what happens if I get locked out again ? He said this happens with these doors. I am sorry Astraseal but this is total rubbish. I have never had any problems with any of my other doors in my home fitted from another glazing company. Certainly never been told its okay to be locked out of my own home. The engineer did say he would come and put a new mechanism in if I get locked out again. Really! Should I wait to locked out again.
Really poor customer service. Deposit was 'lost', windows significantly delayed, poor communication, indifferent staff in the office. However product and end finish was decent.
