Sorry to say that I would not recommend Jarvis Windowcraft. I made the mistake of not shopping around, and trusted the company because I knew the owners. The directors have used a common trick in this industry which is to close down the limited company and start a new one, but effectively to carry on trading just as before same name, address and telephone number. The result is that all guarantees given by the old company are not worth the paper they are written on. My experience was that, although the workmen were obviously capable of good workmanship, corners were cut and there was a casual attitude to some of their work. Our new front door was installed so low that it would not even clear a thin doormat in the hall this meant the front door and frame had to be removed and reinstalled. In the process the door was obviously dropped onto the wooden hall floor. The large dent is still there today. A couple of years after installation, the conservatory roof started to leak and some of the opal roof panels have discoloured (according to the internet, this happens when they are installed upside down with the UV coating facing inside instead of outside). It was when telephoning one of the directors (Alan) about the leaking roof that I was informed they did not intend to do anything about it as the work had been done by the old company. I am sorry to have had to write this poor review.
I have just had new windows by Jarvis and they have done a fabulous job. Nothing was too much trouble and they were a pleasure to have on site. I would highly recommend this Company and I am hoping to use them again replacing more windows in the spring. Many thanks.
What a great team! What great representatives of the firm you are, a great job, well done. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope you can come back soon!
